About CORS
The Centre for Oresund Region Studies (CORS) is an interdisciplinary research centre at Lund University. Taking the Öresund region as its geographical starting point and with an international outlook, the centre examines border regions as places where local, regional, national and transnational processes meet and intersect.
What we do
The Centre for Oresund Region Studies is a platform for interdisciplinary research and knowledge dissemination on regions and borders. CORS’ activities take several forms, including:
- Seminars, workshops, and conferences
- Book publications
- An electronic journal
- Research projects
How we do it
The centre creates spaces for critical reflection and public dialogue on the development and significance of regions and borders. Borders are understood here in a broad sense: as geographical, political and institutional divides, but also as social, cultural, historical, technological and epistemic boundaries that shape people’s everyday lives, communities, knowledge and societal development.
Who we work with

Organisation
- The head of Centre for Oresund Region Studies is Anders Lund Hansen, Associate professor of Human Geography.
- CORS has an interdisciplinary Board of Directors that meet four times a year.
- CORS is part of the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences at Lund University.
